Science You Can Trust
When it comes to science education products like books, films, multimedia, games, and other resources, there's a lot of stuff out there. The vast majority of it is often fluff, full of inaccurate content, boring, or loaded with overwhelming and irrelevant facts and figures. That's NOT science education.
We believe that science education should be about conceptual understanding at an emotional level, and that like all learning—it should be joyous. Good quality science education products should support these experiences, with powerful, accurate stories that portray science as a human journey, a focus on conceptual bridges to the familiar (not a laundry list of facts), and content who's accuracy is unquestionable.
So wouldn't it be cool to have a place where teachers and parents can go where high quality science education products are recommended by folks that understand good science education? Poof, you're here! Welcome to Science You Can Trust.
Currently, we've got two sections at Science You Can Trust—
- Autographed copies of the award-winning Max the Dog Children's Book Series by Jeffrey Bennett. You can enjoy Max's trips to the Moon, Mars, and Jupiter knowing there is a Science Advisory team behind each book, and an author who is a remarkable science educator.
We'll be adding new sections and products to Science You Can Trust throughout 2010, so remember to come back and visit!
And in keeping with our promise that Store Galactica is a different kind of store—one with a deep commitment to science education—here are some possible links of interest at our Center's Blog on the Universe—
