A medium-sized crystal sculpture containing 10 of the 25 worlds found in the Voyage model Solar System exhibition permanently installed on the National Mall in Washington, DC, and in communities across the U.S. Eight planets and two dwarf planets are laser-sculpted in 3D inside solid crystal at one 10-billionth actual size, exactly as they appear in the Voyage exhibition. 10 Worlds of the Solar System
at One 10-Billionth Actual Size

This exquisite crystal block reproduces 10 of the 25 worlds found in the Voyage model Solar System exhibition at exactly one 10-billionth actual size. Eight planets and two dwarf planets are laser-sculpted in 3D inside the solid crystal block, and are presented gracefully, and in size order, against the edge of the Sun. The highly accurate model worlds include the oblateness of Jupiter and Saturn, the orientations in space of the planetary ring systems, and the ring structure. It is interesting to note that the dwarf planet Eris is larger than dwarf planet Pluto. The discovery of Eris, and its size determination re-opened the debate on Pluto's status, and led to Pluto's reclassification as a "dwarf planet" in 2006. Take the Voyage home!

Lighted Base: a lighted base is highly recommended for spectacular display of the art contained in the crystal. LRB80 crystal should be displayed with the optional Medium Light Base. Note that this base only comes with battery power.

Warranty: There is no warranty on the crystal. There is a 30-day warranty on the electrical system for the lighted base. Purchaser is responsible for shipping costs for the return of a defective lighted base. Store Galactica will cover shipping of a new lighted base back to purchaser. All product is carefully inspected and carefully packaged before shipping. Damage in transit is the responsibility of the shipper.

Customizing: you can add laser-burned custom text, and/or a web URL in the crystal for an added set up fee.
