Welcome to Store Galactica, supporting the programs of the National Center for Earth and Space Science Education, operated by the Tides Center, a 501(c)(3) non-profit. The Store Galactica Experience We're an organization dedicated to educating the
next generation, so we decided to open a very different kind of online
store. We want Store Galactica to be a place where our visitors can have a learning experience, and see the depth of our
commitment to education in our products. We promise you’ll see
products here that are both unique and remarkable … just like our programs. So enjoy Store Galactica (cool name, don't you think?) and look for lots of new products in 2010. The Remarkable Programs You Support By Shopping Here Our programsinspire…and educate, whether it's Journey through the Universe, taking entire communities to the frontiers of science; the 3,000
teachers trained annually by our MESSENGER Educator Fellows in support of NASA's Mission to Mercury; replicas of the Voyage model Solar System
on the National Mall in Washington, DC, that we're installing in communities across the U.S.; the 4,800 kids, parents, and
teachers from DC-area schools we host annually at Family Science
Nights at the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum; or Blog on the Universe
where science education is about conceptual
understanding at an emotional level. We want to ensure these programs
are sustained.
Our Vision When it comes to science education we know these programs are powerful (click on these links 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6), allowing audiences of all ages to gain a deeper understanding of their world in a greater universe. But there's also a pragmatic goal—we want to help ensure America has a next generation of scientists and engineers so this nation can compete successfully in the high technology marketplace of the 21st century. Simply put, we believe science education is of national strategic importance. FOUR WAYS to Support Our Programs We have big vision, but we also recognize vision without funding is ... hallucination. And these are tough economic times for non-profits dedicated to social need. So here is how you can help:
The net profit from anything you buy at this online store directly supports our programs.

In 2010, Celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Hubble in Orbit
A national treasure, the Hubble Space Telescope has dramatically altered both the depth and breadth of knowledge concerning our Solar System, our galaxy, and the universe. Its images are breathtaking and humbling, and its accomplishments are known by billions of humans on planet Earth. We should take pride in the human capacity to build such an exquisite instrument of exploration. This art was originally commissioned by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation for inclusion in the Explorers Stanchion of the Voyage model Solar System in Kansas City, Kansas. The Explorers Stanchion is located in front of Kansas City's historic Union Station. This beautiful crystal sculpture captures HST in low Earth orbit, peering into the depths of space.
A large crystal (4.7 x 3.1 x 2.4 inches) containing a highly accurate, 3D laser-sculpted Space Shuttle in ascent against the clouds.
Commissioned for the Center's Student Spaceflight Experiment Program (SSEP), the purchase of this keychain helps support thousands of grade 5-12 students designing real microgravity experiments to fly in low Earth orbit, first on the final two flights of the Space Shuttle (STS-134 and STS-135) and then routinely on the International Space Station.
Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the Apollo Missions to the Moon Recreated in 3D inside solid crystal, the historic photograph of astronaut James B. Irwin saluting the flag at the Apollo 15 landing site. He is standing near the Lunar Module Falcon, and in the distance, the mountain Hadley Delta is seen rising to a height of 13,000 feet above the lunar surface. The stunning detail of the diorama is evident in the American flag. This is the story of how Max the Dog helped humanity leap beyond the realm of the inner solar system—on a visit to explore the giant planet Jupiter and its wondrous moons.
An illuminated keychain in crystal and chrome containing the planets Neptune and Earth laser-sculpted in 3D—at exactly one 10-billionth actual size—as they are depicted in the
Voyage scale model Solar System on the National Mall in Washington, DC.
A bright LED provides stunning illumination of the art in the crystal.
Be part of the Voyage National Program, and put the experience of our world in a greater space right in your pocket.
